Ex-Somerton and Frome MP David Warburton dies suddenly in London

An ex-MP that gave up politics after accusations of sex-related transgression has died suddenly aged 59

David Warburton, that represented the Somerton and Frome constituency in Somerset till June 2023, passed away in London on 26 August.

The Metropolitan Authorities claimed a man in his 50 s was found dead by paramedics at an address in Chelsea, west London.

Policemans are dealing with the man’s fatality as “unforeseen yet not questionable”, the force added.

Marcus Fysh, a former Traditional MP for Yeovil, in Somerset, told the BBC Mr Warburton was a “unwavering colleague and protector of Somerset and Britain”.

“I am so very sad to hear this news and my thoughts are with David’s friends and family,” he stated.

“David was a skilled and sensitive person with an excellent flair for words and enthusiasm for his components.”

Mr Warburton was suspended by the Traditionalist Celebration in April 2022 when insurance claims of sex-related transgression were made against him, which he rejected.

The allegations were later on taken out and an investigation by the Residence of Commons Independent Professional Panel was shut.

Mr Warburton surrendered as an MP in June 2023 after admitting taking drug.

He had actually worked as MP for the former Somerset and Frome constituency given that May 2015

A by-election triggered by his resignation was won by Liberal Democrat candidate Sarah Dyke.
